Filed under: crime and punishment — angry_squirrel December 14, 2005

Convicted of first-degree sexual assault, Matthew Koso faces anything from probation to 50-years hard time in prison. A Nebraska newspaper reporter for the Lincoln Journal Star was unsure why Koso changed his plea from not guilty to guilty. The New York Times reported today Koso’s mother stated the plea change was “because [Matt] was unsure how a jury would decide the case.” The iron fist of Jon Bruning has made full contact and now we wait to find out the extent of government forced family destruction.

When there are too many bears, residents of Vernon New Jersey are not safe. The once threatened black bear population has boomed into present overpopulation, driving bears into places they should not be, such as into town, people’s back yards, and where children play. God doesn’t exist because the History Channel has researched every biblical account and concluded that random, unlikely, yet not impossible, sequences of several natural events occurring in a brief time span can explain any so called “act of God.” From a series of historian interview excerpts, viewers learn how mankind, from ancient Egypt to Renaissance Europe, believed that frequent common natural events like lightning were so difficult to comprehend that God was simply a superstitious way of accepting nature’s forces. Each day the History Channel parades the many reasons Americans should surrender their Christianity and become enlightened atheists or sometimes going even further to help us become more sympathetic to the historical plight of Muslims.

Cable and Satellite Balks At Better Subscriber Options

I’ve always preferred an a la carte model for cable and satellite channel subscriptions, picking and paying only for those channels I want, even if it means paying more per channel. Apparently, FCC Chairman Kevin Martin agrees and plans to release an FCC report which concludes that offering TV programming a la carte is economically feasible and in the best interest of consumers. Greedy cable and satellite providers have always resisted the pick and choose option for customers forcing them to purchase packages containing many channels the customers do not want.
